February 2020 – Homelessness NSW made a submission to the City of Sydney, responding to the ‘Draft Homelessness Action Plan’.

Thursday, 12 March 2020

The submission recommended the City of Sydney put in place tangible and concrete actions to realise the broad based goals of the action plan. It noted the need for a action plan that recognised the full extent of homelessness, beyond rough sleeping. The submission sought commitments from the City of Sydney to a Housing First approach, to action on homelessness experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and to prevention and early intervention. We sought recognition and action to address pathways into homelessness including from the child protection system, from justice, for survivors of domestic and family violence.
