Learning and Development

This is the starting point for SHS and SSF funded staff seeking to improve their skills and expertise. The NSW SHS Learning and Development Framework has made available a large variety of face-to-face, online and in-house learning opportunities. Courses are fully subsidised by the Department of Communities and Justice for SHS Workers and have been tailoured especially for the homelessness sector, with reference to the SHS Workforce Capability Framework

For an overview of everything that is available open the full SHS Learning and Development Framework. If you already know the course you want, go straight to the SHS Training Calendar.

Where indicated, completed coursework is eligible for recognition as part of VET tertiary qualifications. There are also a number of funded Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma qualifications available which have been adapted to the SHS sector context.

CIMS Online Learning & Support Tools

The new CIMS online learning supports new staff on the job and can be used as a just in time tool when you are needing help with a specific function in CIMS. It is particularly useful for those in regional locations who may not immediately be able to attend the CIMS face to face training. The learning is based on how we work with clients and includes an interactive flow chart and downloadable PDFs to use on the job.  We will be adding more topics and modules to the CIMS over the next month.
