Homelessness NSW calls on NSW Government and City of Sydney to address inner city homelessness

Tuesday, 1 August 2017

Homelessness NSW calls on the NSW Government and the City of Sydney to stop the blame shifting around some of Sydney’s most disadvantaged and vulnerable people and take action to end inner city homelessness.

For almost 2 years, Homelessness NSW has been calling on the NSW Government and City of Sydney to develop and implement a cross-government plan to address rising inner-city homelessness.

Urgent investment in social housing and case managed support (Housing First) combined with the establishment of a cross-government taskforce that looks at actively reducing and preventing homelessness is required – internationally this is what other major cities have done and it works.
